George Skakel Memorial Award to recognize the over-all contributions and achievements of an individual which have significantly influenced the progress of science and/or technology of carbon materials.

Charles E. Pettinos Award to recognize recent outstanding accomplishments of an individual in the science and/or technology of carbon materials.

The Awardee in each case receives: the sum of $1000, an appropriate plaque, and a contribution towards his expenses of attending the Conference.

All workers in the field of carbon solids will be considered as eligible to be nominated for the award. There will be no restrictions as to race, creed, color, nationality, age or sex of nominees or recipients. Posthumous award will be made only when knowledge of the awardee's death is
