Originally published in 1957, this historical novel is a classic from British writer Evelyn Bridget Patricia Ward-Thomas (1928 - ) using the pen name Evelyn Anthony. She has written over 40 books including thrillers and spy novels. The Tamarind Seed (1971) was adapted for film in 1974 starring Julie Andrews.
