The anionic polymerization of methacrylate monomers has been investigated with lithium dialkylamides as initiators in THF and toluene, respectively. Theoretical arguments and previous studies of mixed aggregates of lithiated organic compounds support the complexity of these systems. Lithium diisopro

β¦ Synopsis
The aim of this work is to combine the microstructure of a radicalpolymerized diene (butadiene and isoprene) with the functionality of an anionically prepared one, which could be used for polyurethane preparation after functionalization. A two-step anionic procedure was used in order to obtain a hydrocarbon-soluble lithium-based initiator. When compared with the related anionic polymers obtained under classical conditions, the vinyl content of the polydienes was three times greater. These Γndings are discussed on a mechanistic basis.

In this study a controlled polymerization of styrene (S) and methyl methacrylate (MMA) with tetraphenylbisphosphine (TPhBP) as the initiator in bulk was carried out, using UV light as the energy source. The yield of polymerization was up to 15% for PS and up to 62% for PMMA. TPhBP is decomposed to f
The anionic polymerization of 1,3-butadiene using a novel metalloidal anion initiator, triallylstannyllithium (TALi)-allyllithium ( ALi), was studied. The TALi-ALi initiated anionic polymerization of 1,3-butadiene gave the star polymer along with the linear polybutadiene (PBD). The star polymer cons
