β¦ Synopsis
Time-dependent Balmer-ct intensity excited by the photodissociation of H 2 has been measured at 74.5 nm using pulsed synchrotron radiation under the single-bunch operation of a storage ring, from which the angular-momentum population has been obtained of H (n = 3 ) as a dissociation fragment. The angular-momentum population obtained, which is not very localized, is discussed in terms of the symmetry properties of relevant electronic states, which lead to a wide range of photodissociative excitation processes of H2 to produce H(31).
