β¦ Synopsis
We report the electronic structure of single-crystalline EuO thin films studied by angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy and band structure calculation. We have found that the Eu 4f states have sizable energy dispersion at both the G and X points. This result indicates that the hybridization between the Eu 4f states and the other electronic states such as the O 2p and Eu 5d ones is important.

A comparative angle-resolved photoemission measurement has been performed on nonsuperconductive BiZSrZCa0.4Y0.6CuZ08 and superconductive Bi2Sr2CaCu20s to study the nature and origin of the electronic states near the Fermi level. It was found that hole-doping does not cause a rigid shift of the densi
