The multi-faceted activities of Professor A. V. Kiselev found wide recognition. He was awarded the M. V. Lomonosov Prize of the Moscow State University and the D.I. Mendeleev Prize of the Presidium of the USSR Academy of Sciences and was named Scientist Kiselev of Merit of the Russian Soviet Socialist Republic. For many years he had been a member of Organizing Committees of numerous national and international symposia and conferences and a Andrey Vladimirovich Kiselev, a veteran professor of Moscow State University, died on July 17, 1984. A. v. Kiselev was known throughout the world for his fundamental research in the field of chromatography and physical chemistry of sorbents. During 53 years of creative activity he published about member of Editorial Advisory Boards of Chromatographia, Kolloid Zhurnal, and Advances in Colloid and Interface Sciences and Zeolites. In 1963, he was elected a member of the Faraday (now Chemical) Society of Great Britain and in 1974 he received the M. S. Tswett medal.

A. V. Kiselev was not only a brilliant scientist and a talented organizer. He was a man of charming personality, knowing and loving Russian history, arts, and architecture. All his colleagues and students will always cherish the memory of this outstanding man.
