Cyanobacterial bloom samples were collected in the warm season during 1992 -1995 from the 12 lakes in Korea. Six species each of Microcystis and Anabaena, and two of Oscillatoria were identified in these lakes. The cyanotoxins of 47 samples collected from the lakes were identified as ( ) microcystin

## Abstract Phytoplankton communities in lakes and reservoirs are seldom homogeneously distributed but usually aggregate in patches and gradients. In this study we have combined the use of __in vivo__ spectrofluorometry and acoustic Doppler current profiling to investigate the effect of water movem
## Abstract Recruitment of total phytoplankton, chlorophytes and cyanobacteria from lake sediments to the water column was studied using photosynthetic pigments at one site (1.5 m) in Lake Taihu, a large shallow lake in China. Samples were taken weekly from the migration traps installed on the bott
Nutrient regeneration and respiration rates of natural zooplankton from a tropical reservoir were experimentally measured. Excretion rates of ammonia (Ea), orthophosphate (E,) and community respiration rates (R) were estimated considering the variations in the concentrations of ammonia, orthophospha
## Abstract The concentrations of soluble reactive and total phosphate, silicate, and nitrate in the tributaries and in the watercolumn of the meso/eutrophic reservoir Saidenbach were investigated at weekly or fortnightly intervals. The results are presented as annual averages over 16 years (from 1
