โœฆ Synopsis


A simple closed formula is proposed for the probability distribution function of a one-dimensional anharmonic oscillator in thermal equilibrium. It is shown that this formula yields a plausible approximation for the distribution function over wide ranges of the parameter B = hcw&Tand the degree of anharmonicity. A more general formula with extended limits of applicability is also considered.
