✦ Synopsis
A boundary element method for estimating the natural sloshing frequencies and forces developed due to an inviscid, incompressible liquid oscillating in a rigid-walled tank is presented here. The amplitude of oscillation is assumed to be small enough to allow linearization of the boundary condition at the free surface. Both free and forced oscillation cases are studied. Comparison with results available in the literature shows good agreement. The present method o!ers signi"cant economy of computing resources compared to the "nite element method.
