✦ Synopsis
With the conventional evaluation method of the curing speed (using tack-free time) of a #uid sealant (referred to as a gasket), evaluation of the cured state of the surface of the discrete gasket is possible. In contrast, a method using heat analytical equipment enables an evaluation of the cured state to be conducted in an assembled condition. This evaluation method was used to study gasket speci"cation and the #ange shape necessary for joining an aluminum #ange with the steel plate of an engine oil pan.
