✦ Synopsis

Ray spectra of the eluted "mTc (T,,, = 6.02 h) and of the spent "MO generators (T,,, = 65.9 h) have been measured using a high-resolution y-ray spectrometer. Analysis of the measured spectra have shown that together with the 140.5 keV y-ray line of the %Tc, other y-ray lines resulting from other radioactive isotopes such as 12%b (T,,, = 2.73 yr), "'I (T,,, = 8.04 days), '03Ru (T,,, = 39.3 days) and '06Ru (T,,, = 372.0 days) together with its daughter '06Rh (T,,2 = 29.8 s) are existing with remarkable activities.

Using the eluted 99mTc for different diagnostic purposes the presence of these radioactive isotopes with the found activities should be taken with due consideration.

Also, the spent 99Mo generators should be treated as radioactive waste.

## Abstract Labeling of metoprolol by technetium‐99m in pertechnetate form (^99m^TcO) eluted from a ^99^Mo/^99m^Tc alumina generator in the presence of stannous chloride dihydrate was carried out via chelation reaction. The reaction parameters that affect the labeling yield such as metoprolol conce
