This paper describes a boundary integral equation (boundary element) method for the solution of a variety of transient acoustic problems. The spatial and temporal discretization employs quadratic isoparametric elements with high-order Gauss quadrature, and the ensuing equations are implicit. The imp

✦ Synopsis
Abstract
The ray‐tracing technique does not take into account the effects of the inner structure of walls for indoor propagation prediction. A numerical approach to consider this problem using the FDTD method is presented. Numerical results of the path loss calculated by the FDTD method are compared to those obtained by the ray‐tracing technique. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. ## Abstract In this paper, an improved finite‐difference time‐domain (FDTD) algorithm is proposed in order to eliminate the restraint by the Courant–Friedrich–Levy condition. The new algorithm is developed based on an alternating‐direction implicit (ADI) approach. In this method, the conventional t
## Abstract In this communication, we investigate the performance of parallel FDTD code on a Gigabit Ethernet and optical network. It is fact that the optical network is necessary for a large cluster due to its wide bandwidth and small latency. However, for a small cluster, the Gigabit Ethernet wil
