## Abstract In this paper, we study a rectangular microstripline‐fed wide aperture‐coupled microstrip antenna backed by a ground plane. In this case, a rectangular microstrip feed line and a wide slot lead to good impedance matching in a wide‐frequency band. The 2.0 VSWR impedance bandwidth of the
