✦ Synopsis

A rigorous method for analyzing axisymmetric radiating structures, using 2-D finite-element techniques and an expansion in spherical harmonics, is presented. The structure, represented by an equi-¨alent multipole, is entirely characterized by its scattering matrix at the interfaces. The radiation patterns and input impedances obtained for se¨eral antennas are presented.
