## Abstract This letter proposes a parallel coupled‐line bandpass filter (BPF) using the folded slotted ground structures (SGSs) to improve the wide stopband. It is shown that the designed folded SGS has a very small area in comparison of previous works. The folded SGS exhibits a dual stopband char

✦ Synopsis
Abstract
Parallel coupled‐line bandpass filters using the ground‐aperture technique are analyzed in this paper. A design guide and design curves for this kind of coupled‐line bandpass filter on commonly used high‐ and low‐permittivity substrates are presented. Based on the proposed design curves, two sample bandpass‐filter configurations are designed. The design is simulated using Ansoft HFSS and validated by the measurements. Good agreement between the simulated and measured responses is obtained. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract A wideband bandpass filter using parallel‐coupled‐lines with periodical grooves is presented in this article. Owing to the slow wave effect brought by periodical grooves, the proposed structure's resonant frequency can be lowered effectively. This effect has been used in this article to
