Synchronous room-temperature phosphorescence GRIP) spectra of synthetic binary mixtures of pukes and pyrimidines have been determined on Whatman No. 40 filter paper in the presence of heavy ions (I-or 'II+). The SRTP spectra were characterized by well-resolved peaks that could be used for identification of individual compounds. SRTP gave satisfactory results for the analysis of pharmaceutical formulations. No significant interference of the excipient or of an added phosphorescent foreign species was found. The mean recoveries ranged from 80 to 106%.
