## Abstract Sixβcoordinated heme groups are involved in a large variety of electron transfer reactions because of their ability to exist in both the ferrous (Fe^2+^) and ferric (Fe^3+^) state without any large differences in structure. Our studies on hemes coordinated by two histidines (bisβHis) an
## Abstract Cationic and anionic electrospray mass spectra were measured for equine myoglobin, lactalbumin and hen egg white lysozyme from acidic and basic solutions. Both positive and negative ions were detected from all solutions in which the proteins were soluble. This was observed in both nebul
