✦ Synopsis

The performance of hybrid multichannel AMrQAM fiber-optic transmission systems based on the subcarrier multiplexing ( ) SCM technique is sensibly constrained by intermodulation distortions of the laser diode, which must be suitably considered to select system parameters. In this letter, an analytical model is proposed that leads to closed expressions for the power spectral densities of intrinsic dynamic distortions of a semiconductor laser.
