We have studied the magnetothermal properties of La 0.8 Sm 0.2 Mn 2 Si 2 . The magnetic contribution to the heat capacity has been estimated by using the zero-field and 1 T magnetic field data. According to Arrott plots, the La 0.8 Sm 0.2 Mn 2 Si 2 has second order transition at Curie temperature. T
