✦ Synopsis

We present a ¨ersatile, simple, and rapid numerical technique based on thin-film optics for analyzing distributed Bragg reflectors composed of any material system. This technique is an alternati¨e to the commonly used coupled-mode theories or matrix methods. Simulation results agree with those obtained using con¨entional matrix methods, and with the measured reflecti¨ity of an MBE-grown III᎐V DBR.

## Abstract A novel optical true time‐delay (TTD) feeder for phased‐array antennas incorporating a fiber Bragg grating (FBG) prism and optical fibers with metal film deposited on their cleaved ends is proposed. By arranging a metal‐film reflector at one end of the fiber delay line with FBGs written
