β¦ Synopsis
In the current investigation, the dislocation model suggested by Zehetbauer was used to analyze the deformation behavior of pure Ti in the initial state and after 1 and 8 passes of equal-channel angular pressing along the route B C . Accounting of possible twinning was carried out on the basis of the law of two-component mixtures when counting the flow stress. As a result the peculiarities and character of the deformation behavior, deformation mechanisms responsible for forming structure of ultrafine-grained Ti have been analyzed. Relationship between structure and deformation behavior of Ti subjected to severe plastic deformation (SPD) has been stated. It was demonstrated that the model adequately reflects microstructural changes and allows receiving new information on the peculiarities of SPD processes.
