✦ Synopsis

A statistical model and computer program are described to analyze data for the existence of cohort effects. The analysis leads to the separate assessments of cohort, time and age influences on a series of age-specific rates that are available in cross-sectional form. The assessment of these three factors can possibly yield insights into specific disease etiologies.
