β¦ Synopsis
In this Editorial, we want to present some results of the analysis of citations of papers published in Macromolecular Theory and Simulations. This investigation has been conducted with the IS1 Journal Analysis Diskette, a database purchased from the Institute for Scientific Information, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, U S A .
Tab. 1-3 show those papers of the years 1992-1994, respectively, that have been cited most often since their publication until the end of 1996. Tab. 4 presents the five papers cited most often in 1996.
As can be seen from these four tables, the citations do not focus on a specific topic: virtually the whole area of polymer theory and simulations is covered, published by authors from all over the world. The countries from where authors contributed the most papers until 1996 are Germany, the U.S.A. and Russia, respectively.
A further interesting information extracted from this database is the fact that only three papers published in 1992 and three in 1993 have not been quoted until the end of 1996. This demonstrates the efficiency of our peer-review system.
