✦ Synopsis

The analysis of lincomycin and lincomycin B by an improved gas-liquid chromatographic method is described. The trimethylsilyl ether is formed and extracted before chromatography.

The method has been applied successfully to bulk material and has been extended to determine the lincomycin content of capsules, syrups, inje'ctables, and powders. The results compare favorably with those obtained by niicrobiological assay.
