Advective heat and mass transfer in a saturated porous medium is numerically studied here. A geometrically simple model has been used to study adsorption and desorption effects between the fluid and the solid matrix.
The common assumptions of spatial and temporal equilibrium between the two phases has been specifically examined in the present study.
Results show that these assumptions are valid only under special conditions.
