β¦ Synopsis
In this paper a relay-controlled plant possx&ng one negative real pole of order two ia studied. Fir8t a regulating system i.9 considered, in that we inve&igate de&n of the controller for simubneoua reduction of error and error derivative to zero. Through simple linear transformations, it i8 8h.01.m that the equahm of .zwitching curve can be made independent of any con&ant gain a~ well a~ the value of the repeated pole of the plant. Next, we consider the tracking problem and show the type of admi&ble inpui Buch that after a minimum transient time the plant output would follow this input perfectly and, aa in the case of a regulating system, with at most one switching reversal of the relay.
