✦ Synopsis
The proportional navigation system analysed in this paper is a complicated nonlinear sampled-data control system. The stability boundaries and limit cycles of the system are found by the stability-equation method. The results obtained are useful for analysing the tracking characteristics of the system, especially in the nonlinear regionfor which no analysis is given in the current literature.
