β¦ Synopsis
The average structure of the orthorhombic antimony tungsten bronze, Sb 0.16 WO 3 , has been resolved by three-dimensional single-crystal X-ray diffraction (space group Pmmm, a av β«Ψβ¬ 7.4261(7), b av β«Ψβ¬ 10.2004(15), c av β«Ψβ¬ 3.8061(7) A s , and Z β«Ψβ¬ 5). The structure refinement based on 377 observed unique reflections with I > 2 (I ) (3493 totally measured reflections) converged to R β«Ψβ¬ 0.064. The structure is of the intergrowth tungsten bronze type (ITB), consisting of slabs of hexagonal tungsten bronze structure (HTB) interchanged with slabs of perovskite-like WO 3 structure (PTB) along [010]. The HTB slabs are one hexagonal tunnel thick and the PTB slabs are two WO 6 octahedra thick. The Sb atoms are distributed over two positions inside the hexagonal tunnels. Electron diffraction observations revealed a superstructure with a s β«Ψβ¬ 2a av , b s β«Ψβ¬ 2b av , and c s β«Ψβ¬ 4c av , which may be attributed to an ordering of the Sb atoms. A possible structural model is proposed.

It is shown by X-ray diffraction that on decomposition of a (3-W alloy in the vicinity of the chemical spinodal the matrix changes continuously in composition, whereas the segregated phase lies close to the equilibrium position. It was also observed that in the initial stages the new phase had the s

## Abstract **Summary:** Solutionβgrown lamellar crystals of poly(__p__βdioxanone) (PPDX) have been crystallized isothermally from butaneβ1,4βdiol at 100βΒ°C. The crystal structure of PPDX has been determined by interpretation of Xβray fiber diagrams of PPDX fibers and electron diffraction diagrams
