✦ Synopsis

Abstmrr--Thc standard Gibb's energy of formation, AG> of "FeO" was determined to be (AGj&, f 0.2)/kJ = -260.8 + 0.0621 T/K (77!?-834 K) using a triple electrode-bielcctrolyte cell with air as reference. The eutcctoid temperature in the Fe-O system was found to be 791 K from similar em~messurements on Fe + FerO+ mixture.
