A "solid" echo experiment is described which provides for direct and accurate measurement of interpair dipolar interactions It is applicable whenever the intrapak interaction is sufficiently larger than the interpair one for fine structure to be resolved in the steady-state spectrum. The tecllnique is applied to crystalline hydrates.
