✦ Synopsis

An lteratlve transfer perturbation method is applied to study the interaction between a polymer and a small molecule and the results obtained are in good agreement with those from the usual extended Hiickel calculations. We expect this method to provide a basis for the explanation of various experimental phenomena found in polymer systems.
