Abstract

An iterative solution process combined with the penalty function method employed in constrained variational priciples is described. As an example of the use of the method an axi‐symmetric plate with the complementary energy formulation is considered.

## Abstract In this study, a simple and efficient cyclic coordinate search procedure is used to optimize penalty functions. Since the contours of the penalty function are very ill‐behaved, an accurate line search is very difficult to achieve. Due to accumulated errors in line search, this makes β€œsi

This article is concerned with iterative techniques for linear systems of equations arising from a least squares formulation of boundary value problems. In its classical form, the solution of the least squares method is obtained by solving the traditional normal equation. However, for nonsmooth boun

## Abstract An iterative method based on the wave concept is used to analyse a defect ground structure (DGS). In this case two applications are given. Firstly, we studied a __Ξ»__/4 bias transmission line maintaining high impedance that is added dumbbell‐shaped DGS on ground plane of the conventiona
