Tlc.puitinent of Pli?ysiology, IinrversLty of Cliicugo ('clrtaiii espcbrirnents 011 iierve call for the use of so-called giant axoiis. Heretofore the only isolated giant axons exteiisively used have been those of the cephalopods, which, how-(TCY, a i ~ a ~a i l a b l e oiily at the wacoast and, except for a few iwlmi.atories, oiily tluriiig the summer. It recently became desii*al)le for tlie wi-itcrs to have such a preparation available tlic year around iii tlic niidwest. Tlie present report describes the isolated giaiit ax011 preparation developed to fill this need.
