✦ Synopsis
Several possibfc densities of states for the vg vibrational exciton band of solid CO2 have been tested by comparing the observed energy levels of dilute impurities with the resuits of c3lcuIations. Through this comp3Cson we estimate that the total spread of the band is about 52 cm-' and that its second moment is about 1 IS (cm-')'.
