The reduction and oxidation reactions of the Cu(II)/Cu(O) system have been studied with a rotating gold ring-disk electrode in 0.2 M sulphuric acid solutions. Two reduction waves R1 and R2 are obtained. R1 is mainly attributed to the underpotential deposition of copper while R 2 is associated with
