β¦ Synopsis
Use of high resolution Fourier transform spectroscopy has allowed the study of the Doppler shifts of 4p Ar + emission lines found in Ar + lasers, as a function of polarity and pressure of a At/He discharge. The results indicate that the emitting 4p states can be distinctly divided into low and high energy groups, which are populated respectively by He metastable excitation of ground state Ar ions and electron impact on ground state neutral At.

## Abstract A combination of ultraviolet (UV) and infrared (IR) absorption and circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopy was applied to investigate the structure and formation of large supramolecular DNAβprotein complexes. This combination of techniques was used to overcome limitations of UVβCD (electro
A method for measuring very small shifts in the position of Raman bands in F'f Raman spectra is presented. This centres on band fitting calculations, with mixtures of acetone f-&and acetone D6 being used as a trial system. Different cell designs were used, the best results being obtained from a cuve
Existing permanganic etching techniques have been adapted for an aliphatic polyketone terpolymer to examine its spherulitic and lamellar morphology by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). A spherulitic morphology was observed consisting of irregularly shaped
