Abstract
The direct and inverse problems of normally incident TE planeβwave scattering by perfectly conducting cylindrical structures with arbitrary cross sections are considered. It is shown that application of the method of lines results in an efficient procedure for calculating the scattering amplitude and also for determining the shape of cylindrical structures if the electromagnetic scattering amplitude is given. To illustrate the procedure, some realistic numerical examples are presented. Β© 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
