✦ Synopsis
Abstract
A distributed fiber optic intrusion detection sensor is proposed, in which a nonbalanced Mach‐Zehnder interferometer is used as phase demodulator, and an optical time domain reflectometer is used as a position detector. The experimental results concluded that the positioning error of ±25m can be achieved along an 8.8‐km single mode fiber. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
