Abstract
The numerical solution of fluid–structure interactions with the customary subiteration method incurs numerous deficiencies. We propose a novel solution method based on the conjugation of subiteration with a Newton–Krylov method, and demonstrate its superiority and beneficial characteristics. In this Note, we introduce a partitioned Newton based method for solving nonlinear coupled systems arising in the numerical approximation of fluid-structure interaction problems. The originality of this Schur-Newton algorithm lies in the exact Jacobians evaluation involving the fluid-structure linea
## Abstract Embedded boundary methods for CFD (computational fluid dynamics) simplify a number of issues. These range from meshing the fluid domain, to designing and implementing Eulerian‐based algorithms for fluid–structure applications featuring large structural motions and/or deformations. Unfor
In this paper an incompressible Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) method is proposed for simulation of fluid-structure interaction problems, deploying the pressure Poisson equation to satisfy incompressibility constraints. Viscous fluid flow past rigid and hypoelastic solid surfaces is studied.
Numerical techniques frequently used for the simulation of one bubble can be classified as interface tracking techniques and interface capturing techniques. Most of these techniques calculate both the flow around the bubble and the shape of the interface between the gas and the liquid with one code.
