โฆ Synopsis
The two-dimensional problem of an infinite plate weakened by a curvitinear hole of general shape. is studied hy the complex variable method. The plate is subjected to a biaxial stress state at infinity and the hole to an internal pressure.
Using the method of analytic continuation of the complex potentials the problem is reduced to a Hilbert problem and is solved in closed form. The coefficients entering in the Hilbert solution are determined from the condition that both complex potentials should be holomorphic in the entire plane and bounded at infinity. The general solution is applied to particular cases and the results obtained arc successfully compared with those existing in the literature.
