## Abstract Ferrozine [3β(2βpyridyl)β5,6βbis(4βphenylsulfonic acid)β1,2,4βtriazine] was found to be a satisfactory colorimetric reagent for the quantitative determination of iron in the leaves of __Spinacia oleracea__ and __Porphyra petens__ and, by inference, in all plant materials.

β¦ Synopsis
Abstract
Calcium is separated as oxalate in a centrifuge tube. The precipitate is estimated by dissolving in a known excess of ceric sulphate, excess of which is then determined absorptiometrically. The range covered is 100β1000 ΞΌg. calcium.
