✦ Synopsis

In this paper a simple order-statistics-based iterative procedure for estimating the failure-free time is put forward. The method is applicable when the population lifetime follows the Weibull, C-Weibull or Gompertz-Makeham distribution.

Fitness is expected to decrease with inbreeding in proportion to the amount of deleterious genetic variation present in a population. The effect of inbreeding on survivorship is usually modeled as a negative exponential relationship, and this model has been widely used to estimate the amount of dele

The rank-order HMT, which provides better performance in cases with noise and clutter, also can be achieved using the proposed sys

## Abstract A regularized time‐staggered discretization of the shallow‐water equations has recently been proposed. Here, a new form of the regularization operator is presented. This form addresses a weakness in the original formulation so that now the discretization preserves the analytic forced re

We conducted a simulation study to compare two semi-parametric approaches for the estimation of covariate effects from multivariate failure time data. The first approach was developed by Wei, Lin and Weissfeld (WLW) and the second by Liang, Self and Chang (LSC). Based on the simulation results we re

Longitudinal studies are increasingly popular in epidemiology. In this tutorial we provide a detailed review of methods used by us in the analysis of a longitudinal (multiwave or panel) study of adolescent health, focusing on smoking behaviour. This example is explored in detail with the principal a
