## Abstract The oneβdimensional (1D) defected ground structure (DGS) is used to control the cutβoff frequency characteristic. In this paper three nonβperiodic filters are built, in order to show the versatility of DGS. Five unit cells of different shape with the same attenuation pole frequency were
