β¦ Synopsis
The EXAFS spectrum of copper (II) sulphate pentahydrate has been measured usmg synchrotron radtation. Comparison with the results of ab nntio calculation gives a mean copper-oxygen dtstance of 1 95 A, in reasonable agreement wtth the known value of 1 97 A.The relation bettieen the EXAFS Debye-Waller factor and thermal parameters measured by neutron dlffraction IS dlscusscd Absence m the EXAFS soectrum of evidence for the second-nearest neighbour oxygen atoms, * Computer programme wrttten by R.
