✦ Synopsis

An experimental technique is described, which allows to discriminate between series and parallel enzyme deactivation patterns. It consists in monitoring the enzyme activity as a function of time and in step-increasing the temperature, at a given stage of the deactivation process. Single-step deactivation processes are also discussed, for comparison purposes. The experimental results presented refer to B-galactose dehydrogenase, B-D-galactosidase, B-fructosidase.
