โœฆ Synopsis

129Xe n.m.r, of adsorbed xenon has been used to study the geometry of the internal voids in zeolite beta. Total porous volumes available for hydrocarbons have been measured gravimetrically and were found equivalent to those of zeolite Y. The intracrystalline space of zeolite beta corresponds to short portions of 12-membered ring channels with a diameter of 7.5-8/~, and cavities with a diameter of 12-13 )~, probably at channel intersection.
