## Abstract ## Background. Literature regarding the prognostic significance of extracapsular spread and soft tissue deposits in cervical lymph node metastases of squamous cell carcinoma of the upper aerodigestive tract shows variable results. ## Methods. We analyzed 215 prospectively collected n
