## Abstract With the rapid replacement of closed, homogeneous, proprietary HPC systems by heterogeneous, Linux‐MPI cluster systems, the state of performance monitoring and analysis tools has become a cause for concern. Proprietary systems, despite their drawbacks, provided consistent tools of high
