Abstract

A method of wind analysis widely used in low latitudes is shown to be basically unsound, using the results of another method of analysis. It is shown that analogy may usefully be drawn between middle‐latitude and equatorial airflow. A suggestion for the use of pressure data near the equator and brief comments on well‐known types of wind analysis are made. The emphasis is on equatorial conditions.
