A method is proposed for the ~&~lation of the positions of autoioniz@ rekanezs, in which the Lowest c&nvalue of the bamiitonhn matrix is maximized with respect to the position of B radial node in the trial wavefunclion. The results are mmpared with more precise cakulations far the 2s2p '*3P states of helium.
